Mental health support for rural Australians by rural Australians.
Talking things through with someone with formal training and lived experience can take some of the weight off your shoulders. It’s a private, judgement-free way to say the things you might not want to unload on family or mates. We can help with:
Family and relationship strain
Intergenerational pressure and conflict
Succession planning stress
Workload, burnout, sleep problems
Financial pressure, debt, rising costs
Alcohol and substance use
Stress, anxiety and anger
Depression and low mood
Grief and loss
Post disaster support (fire & flood)
It’s maintenance - a grease and oil change for your mind.
I’m Al, a farmer and counsellor.
Born and raised on a generational family farm. I’ve spent time managing the family farm, in the transport industry, Ag contracting, volunteering in the CFA and at Lifeline as a crisis supporter. I know firsthand what it’s like when the pressure builds and I know how hard it can be to ask for help. Especially in rural Australia where help is hard to access and you’re flat out just trying to keep up.
That’s why I started Rural Counselling Australia. To provide real, private support for rural people, families and businesses in the bush. Delivered from someone who actually understands the work, the lifestyle, and the weight that comes with it.
Private support that fits your life, wherever you live or work.
