Mental health support for rural Australians by rural Australians.
Talking things through with someone qualified can take some of the weight off your shoulders. It’s a private, judgement-free way to say the things you might not want to unload on family or mates. We can help with:
Stress and anxiety
Depression, low mood, suicidal thoughts
Grief and loss
Succession planning
Intergenerational pressure and conflict
Family and relationship strain
Workload, burnout, sleep problems
Financial pressure, debt, rising costs
Alcohol and substance use
It’s maintenance - like a grease and oil change for your mind.
I’m Al, a farmer and counsellor.
Born and raised on a generational family farm. I’ve spent time in the driving trucks, managing the family farm, contract harvesting and everything in between. All while navigating my own mental health challenges along the way. I know firsthand what it’s like when the pressure builds and I know how hard it can be to ask for help. Especially in a regional Australia where help is hard to access and you’re flat out just trying to keep up.
That’s why I started Rural Counselling Australia. To provide real, private support for rural people, families and businesses in the bush, from someone who actually understands the work, the lifestyle, and the weight that comes with it.
Private support that fits your life, wherever you live or work.
